The Undersea City of Titanica

This is a photo record of my building of a model of the Undersea Kingdom of the WASP's greatest foe, the Mighty Titan!

As you can see from the shots of the 'real' thing, I've tried to get the rather bizarre look and feel of the original Derek Meddings model from the TV series. Quite what they had in mind when they were building it.... I'm not sure! But - with the aid of the most expensive components I could find (I probably spent £80 on cork and EMA plastic tubing and so forth: abou tthe same as was spent in 1963 on the original, I expect) I set about the task.

Apart from "Expenso-pipe", the model also contains the odd piece of household rubbish (room freshner, electric rasor head cleaner and so forth).

Some of this can be better seen in the two shots near the bottom of this page which show the model during construction and before painting.
